The AGM of the Letterkenny Islamic Association was postponed from the summer due to low turnout.

New Date and Time:

The Agenda for the AGM is as follows:

  • A summary of the previous year’s activities (including a presentation of the annual accounts)
  • The election of new directors and the appointment of a new secretary
  • Selection of new secretary
  • A discussion of the Eir incident

  • A discussion on activities to build/buy for a new Masjid

The current directors are: Dr. Numan Khan, Munir Ahmad and Tawfiq Azzenoud

All three directors are retiring from their positions and will not be running for re-election.

The current secretary, Amir Gamil, will also not be running for re-selection as secretary.

The current chairman is Dr. Raashid Rahmani. A new chairman will be elected.

The gentlemen above are not abandoning the masjid. All will continue to strive for the masjid for the sake of Allah. Some by continuing as part of the committee (if selected by the directors) and others by duaa. The intention of the above is to have renewed motivation and new faces.

We are all part of the community and we all have a responsibility to it.

We would like to see good engagement from all parts of the Muslim community in Letterkenny and the surrounding areas. All nationalities should take part.

The intention is to have a new board of directors that has:

One member from the Sudanese community.

One member from the Pakistani community.

Other members from the other communities (India, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria etc).

We are all Muslims and nationality should not and does not matter. However, in order to make sure that everyone feels properly represented, we would like to see engagement from all communities.

If you are interested in running for election as director or you would like to nominate someone, please send an email. The position of director is of course open to brothers and sisters.
