Letterkenny Islamic Association Condemns Attack on Finsbury Park Mosque

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the news of the attack on Finsbury Park Mosque during the early hours of Monday morning whilst worshippers were leaving the mosque after having prayed taraweeh prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.

This is clearly a terrorist attack and it’s positive that the authorities are viewing it as that.

This attack clearly shows how we all need to stick together against this kind of behaviour whether Muslims are the perpetrators or the victims.

The Letterkenny Islamic Association are very grateful for the heart warming messages of support received.

Letterkenny Islamic Association Condemns London Attacks

The incidents in London last night have left us shocked, disgusted, heartbroken and utterly devastated.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.

The people who carry out these attacks have nothing to do with Islam. Their actions are completely opposed to the principles of Islam. They follow a twisted ideology a million miles away from the peaceful religion taught and practised by the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims who continue to live peacefully and harmoniously with those around them.

The intention is to have a new board of directors that has:

One member from the Sudanese community.

One member from the Pakistani community.

Other members from the other communities (India, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria etc).

We are all Muslims and nationality should not and does not matter. However, in order to make sure that everyone feels properly represented, we would like to see engagement from all communities.
